Hey all,
I have come across a problem and need help. I am in the process of removing the ball valves on my CD 25 and I can't unscrew the starb'd valve due to space restrictions...i.e. the fiberglass "wall" next to the valve. I figure the only way to completely unscrew the valve is to cut a hole so the part that protrudes on the side of the valve has clearance when I unscrew it. Has anyone else had a problem with their valves too close to the bulkhead?
Thanks for the help.

Removing Ball Valves on starbd side of CD 25

Re: Removing Ball Valves on starbd side of CD 25
Loosen the nut on the bronze through hull (I bought a cheap wrench and ground it thinner). Turn the nut/valve back and forth to break loose the thru hull sealer. Now get a tool for removing the through hull (I used a piece of steel plate with a hole drilled in it for a pry bar). Have someone hold onto the seacock with a pipe wrench, and hold the nut wrench, then unscrew the through hull from the nut and the valve.

Great advice this is the correct way to remove the ball valve I would not recomend cutting away the fiberglas. The typhoon is the same situation with both ball valves
