FYI: perfect dingy for $575

Post by Chris D »

I am moving my CD25 to a mooring and I needed a dingy. I found this great kit for an Eastport Pram at www.clcboats.com – Chesapeake Light Craft sells them for $575.

I am currently building this sweet-looking wooden dink. I can’t wait to put it in the water in the spring. If any one has one of these, I’d be happy to hear your tales. I can’t wait to see how she rows and tows.

Another possibility for anyone interested is the Nutshell Pram from Wooden Boat. I just built one of the 8 ft. models from the very detailed plans ($75 for the plans, they also offer a kit)and am very pleased with it - it's light and easy to maneuver on land and to launch, rows well, and carries 300 - 400 lbs with reasonable stability & ease of rowing.
