So the blob is really teak stain that spilled (in several locations) on the gelcoat of our CD25. I have no idea what we could use to safely encourage the stains to leave. Any ideas would be helpful. We are new owners of this boat and would like to get rid of the stains before they weather away on their own. Thanks -- Teresa

Not sure exactly what kind of teak stain you are using but I have had pretty good success removing Semco Teak Sealer with "Simple Green", a spray cleaner available at auto parts stores, etc.Teresa DeHaemer wrote: So the blob is really teak stain that spilled (in several locations) on the gelcoat of our CD25. Well, the wind (certainly not me) spilled about 1/4 can of Cetol on the cabin top. The orange slime made it down to the deck. I wiped up most of it with rags. I had both comet with bleach and bon-ami on board. The comet cleanser worked very well, scrubbing with a small brush. It removed about 9 square feet of stain on both the smooth and textured surfaces. In fact, that side of the boat now looks whiter and brighter than the other side.Brad Phinney wrote:Teresa DeHaemer wrote: So the blob is really teak stain that spilled (in several locations) on the gelcoat of our CD25. I'll 2nd Bob's recommendation with the bleach. I did just the bleach without the comet or bon-ami. The bleach just needs to sit for a few minutes. The longer it sits the whiter it gets. I rinsed very well with water when finished.....worried it might still "eat away" afterwards. - We left a traill of cetol....not sure exactly what you were using. Loved the results of cetol...so long as on teak not deck!

Soft Scrub with Bleach works on almost anything, including Cetol.
