ADMIN: More Improvements to Board

Post by Walt Bilofsky (Webmaster) »

Obvious Improvement: New messages that contain a picture and/or a link will have an icon indicating that on their line on the main message board page. Hopefully this will make it more inviting for people to post Cape Dory pictures.

We can't provide web space for your pictures - you'll have to upload them to the Web yourself and enter the URL (web address) for the picture file in the Image URL blank on the Post Message form.

Mystery Improvement: Hasn't anyone noticed yet? It's another change on the main message board page. A tip of the flying squirrel's helmet to the first to find it.

The background is the same I think. I believe he is in referance to the cape dory symbol at the top of the page.

Good eye. Four backgrounds rotate, each containing a pair of Cape Dory boats. I figured that after five years, it was time to share with the majority. :-)

Here's the explanation of the previous background (from the California Cape Dory Owners' Assn. home page):

About our wallpaper: The background images on these pages show two Cape Dory boats, the 30' motorsailer and the 30' flybridge powerboat. Neither is among the most common Cape Dory boats, but as it turns out, the founding fleet of the California Cape Dory Owners Association consisted of these two boats and a 28' powerboat. Of the 70 or so Cape Dorys that have joined us since then, ninety percent are normal Cape Dory sailboats. We've finally updated the wallpaper on some of the other pages on this site, so more models are represented. Browse around.

Just keep the squirrel fed and happy. He/she/it powers this board, and remember the last time the board had slowdowns. Who has seen the beer commercial about what happens when the cleaning lady takes the beer from in front of the hamster. The hamster that spins the treadmill that makes the power that lights the city.....
Nice touch on the rotating backgrounds. Pls, just dont do popups. Absolutely hate those things.

What a view...

Thank you very much for expanding the "recent posts" view options!!! This will be very handy when I've been away for a few days of sailing.

I have always thought this was a great board...the recent improvements are the icing on the cake!
