I ordered bronze ports from ABI.

The factory portlight cutout on the Ty is 4 1/4 inches diameter. Spartan's smallest is 4 3/4, ABI's is 4 1/2. The ABI product is nicely finished (better than Spartan's from the photos) and comes with an optional finish ring for the interior. I believe ABI is cheaper too.

You remove the factory plastic ports and give them a decent burial. Use a Dremel tool or rasp/file to enlarge the cutouts to 4 1/2" diameter after tracing the larger circle onto the fiberglass. Coat the new opening with epoxy to seal. After cure, mount the rings using polyurethane or polysulfide sealer (NOT silicone) and #8 bronze flat head wood screws (short enough so they don't penetrate the interior gelcoat). Mount the trim rings inside with the same screws, making sure to stagger the screw pattern with that of the port.

These are the ports that CD SHOULD have put in at the factory.

ABI (800) 422-1301 for catalogue/info. Part number for port is 1220BR, finish ring 1221BR.

I'm sure Roger at Bristol Bronze...

will be offering a nice product too. Might want to check that out, and eliminate the cutout enlargement.

P.S. Please hit your "caps lock" key. All caps are ANNOYING!

I have corresponded with Roger at BB several times in the last month or so. His latest is that thier bronze portlight prototypes have been cast and they are preparing to begin production.

I plan on ordering mine!

Good Luck

I put in the ABI portlights with inside finishing ring last year. They are beautiful.
