Whatever you did has sure sped up the loading of the BB. For a couple of days it was very slow and then all of a sudden all the categories across the top load simultaneously in a flash rather than each taking a little while to load as in the old days.

The navigation bar at the top was converted from seven images into an "image map" - one image with seven clickable areas. Not my idea - it was done at the request of our Internet Service Provider to reduce their load. I tried doing it that way many years ago, but not all browsers in use at the time could accommodate image maps.

Since then we have been moved onto a faster server (as part of them tripling the rates). So you should be seeing even better loading times now.
