Can someone explain the difference between a Cape Dory Typhoon Senior and the CD22? I have a brochure on the 22 - and know you can get an inboard diesel for the 22. Does the Ty Senior have a larger cockpit space? I think the port windows are different (the 22s open and the Senior seems to have just round port holes). What about below decks? Does the Senior have a space for porta-potti? Berths? Thanks for your help.

Essentially, the Sr. is a day sailor. There is no water tank, no stove, no sink. There is space for a porta-potti. It has a much plainer interior.
The Sr. is a 7/8 rig, like other Typhoons The CD-22 is masthead
rig. Even though the PHRF ratings are the same, I would think the masthead rig should provide an advantage when going to weather.
I really like the way the OB is mounted in the Sr. It keeps the transom clear and allows the motor to be tilted up out of the water. It's too bad the CD-22 doesn't have a similar OB mount. CD-22's with diesel are very rare and consequently expensive.
