Captains Heintz & Kaplan....hot tub Hi-Jinks....

Post by Captain Commanding, Hanal »

To all Captains of the Cape Dory Fleets,

It is rumored Sirs, that the Captains of Macht Nichts and Sine Qua Non, the Captains Sir Michael Heintz and Sir Warren Kaplan, are spending time together in a hot tub(location unknown, but spies are looking!)with a bottle of cheap wine(20 yrs.old and gone bad!), planning the assault on the honorable vessel Hanalei at next years randezvous! Now, we are all aware that any campaign requires some degree of planning, but I bring to you Sirs, is this an honorable approach? One wonders what possibly could be taking place in said hot tub that could significantly affect the outcome of next years meeting at sea?????

These Captains could most probably be described as "loose cannons"! I would caution any other Captain about listening to their words of wisdom, particularly if given under the influence of said bottle of wine.

A warning well received, will save the Sailors among us when next at sea...I remain Sirs, you most HUMBLE servant....

Avast there, Captain Stump!!

You know not what you do!! Your thinly veiled attempt to turn fellow Cape Dory captains against Captain Heintz and me will only make us more resolute in ripping the cup away from you next year!! This is rapidly approaching war like posturing. So be it!! I won't presume to speak for Captain Heintz as he is more than able to launch his own broadside at you. But I'll tell you what I'll be saying to my crew in preparation for these hostilities:
"When the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger.
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood.
Disguise fair nature with hard-favored rage."
( W. Shakespeare, Henry V)

Desist from the devious course you have plotted. Helm hard over. Come about Captain Stump! It will go better for you in the end!!

To Captain Stump

O sorrowful soul...how lonely it is as #1....the fear... of which we can smell.... of a devastating loss in next year's rematch. For Stump to stoop..... so low....how sad.....But revel Sir in your victory, for indeed it is short lived....the forces of said Captain Kaplan, commanding Dreanought, and the forces of Racing Sloop Macht Nichts, are indeed to be reckoned with. Whether in the hot tub, or sipping fine wine, or practicing tactics and tacks in LI Sound, Hanalei, and her pirate Captain Stump will indeed have to prove to all Captains of the Cape Dory Fleet, his resolve and determination to hold on to said cup.

I remain Sir...your most HUMBLE servant.....

To all Captains Commanding,

It is possible that the Captain of Hanalei misspoke! ! ! If so, I humbly apologize to Captains Heintz and Kaplan. I really didn't want to "put my foot in it" so to speak. Isn't it something how these unfounded rumors get started??? I REALLY didn't mean to hurt anyones' feelings! heh.

It IS going to be a DonnyBrook next year isn't it?

No apology needed!!!!!!No offense taken !!!!!!!But I believe Sir that you have indeed "Put your foot into to it". And having done that... it may never come out.
Of course we all know how and where this will be resolved!!!!! On the finish line. And I dear say
I do hope to be looking off my STERN to see Hanalei in my wake!!!!!!
Well, Sir....back to training

I see that Catherine has thrown down the gauntlet!!!!!

Post by Michael Heintz »

To all captains Concerned,

Take note, Catherine Monaghan and her "much feared cutter" Realization, (I'm shaking with fear as I type), has entered the fray.

I think, Catherine, that those Tan Bark sails, (although beautifully traditional), will not push the wind as well as the NEW set of shoes that will fly on the Racing Sloop Macht Nichts CD 30 MK II.

Beware Sir... Mam...you have entered into a dark place, and to...beware of said Pirate Captain Stump, for he will stop at nothing to hang onto said cup. You may want to join forces with Myself and Captain Kaplan. There is plenty of room in said Hot Tub!!!!!!!!

By the way, as an officer of CD organization, you might want to consider and put aside in the budget, getting a Cup worthy of next year's winner. Feel free to consult me as to the design of said cup.......I do want to be sure it will fit on my mantel ;_0

To the Pirate Captain Stump!

What, Sir, do you take me for? Years at sea...salt spray, harsh sun and wind pelting every inch of me...has turned my skin to something like rhinoscerus hide. Not easily damaged by the low velocity slings and arrows being hurled at it! No Sir! You did not offend my mind or body in the least. We Cape Dorians are a tough old breed! All this bravado and posturing will, of course, insure a very friendly race no matter what the outcome. And now, since it is only proper to speak "piratespeak" to a pirate captain, I'll raise a "nipperkin" to you Cap'n Stump!

The aforementioned hot tub can accomodate 6 captains and crew.
The wine rack grows new wine bottles as very old ones are removed!
Keeping up with the wine rack approaches a full time job!
I wonder why I waste my time coming to work some days!

Re: Rub-a-dub-dub, 3 in the TUB ! ! !

Post by Captain Commanding Hanale »

To all Captains Concerned,

This last posting, received this instant from Captain Heintz has brought this Captain full aback! One can only wonder what tactics are being discussed by THREE (3) Captains in a hot tub, with a clap of thunder to plan on bringin'to the fine vessel Hanalei. But, the note does lend credence to the fact that SOMETHIN' is occuring in that Tub! To be sure, this Captain suspects that the fine and honorable Captain Monaghan is a crimp, and was pressed into this relationship with said Captains Heintz and Kaplan. She may not be aware of the hazardous company she keeps! But, then a'ain, she may also be plotting ways to bring aback the fine vessel Hanalei and cause her to strike during next years competition.

Thankful that there is about 10 months of planning left to prepare for the sea battle to come.....I remain.....your most HUMBLE servant....

Captain Heintz: Are you REALLY buying new sails???
Michael Heintz

New Sails indeed..........and more......

Post by Michael Heintz »

Capatain Stump
Indeed sir... New Sails as previously stated. In addition rigging will be fully tuned......bottom shall gleam from polishing, I have arranged a travel lift to pull Macht Nichts after every training sesson.....this consists of sailing 5 days a week (Man I'm gonna have to quit my job to manage this campaign)

I guess I'll have to consider a folding prop.....Man this race is costing me......this better be on the level of a 12 meter campaign.

Catherine....we need a REAL cup...please call for dimensions, I want it fit on my mantel..

Before taking sides in this fray...

Post by Mark Yashinsky »

remember that the Captains of the good ships Hanalei and Macht Nichts were posting notices that the ships of the American Navy were ripe for the picking. And during a recent rendezvous the Captain (and crew???) of the Macht Nichts did fire upon other Cape Dorians (have seen the pictures), with decidely evil intent (to soil their decks w/ balloon remains).
Mark Yashinsky

And where is this posting of Lady Catherine's???

Post by Mark Yashinsky »

We wish view the exact wording of her intentions in this matter.
Michael Heintz

Re: And where is this posting of Lady Catherine's???

Post by Michael Heintz »

Captain Yashinsky,

The post from Catherine can be found if you scroll down a bit. But let me share with you the most important line from that post quoting from Catherine........"If said cutter starts on time next year, all other CD crews should be fearful. So be afraid. Be very afraid."

So there you have it. I am....so afraid....shaking as I type.....

The CD fleet should be thankful, that we fired water balloons only, for the damage could have be so much greater......

We could have knocked out the entire NE Fleet..... But alas.. then there would have been no one to race....... Perhaps I should have just taken out Pirate Captain Stump........Then we would not have to listen to this # 1... But It does give me something to look foreword to next year....and that is the total annihilation of Hanalei and her Pirate Captain. As to Catherine.....mmmmmmm... I hope those Tan Bark sails don't slow her down !!!!!!

I remain Sir... Your Most HUMBLE servant.......

and Mark... will you join us next year?

Ahhh. The thread about painting your bottom @ midnight...

Post by Mark YAshinsky »

That one got a little strange so I did not continue following it.

I have heard reports that the Lady Catherine is getting a set of high performance racing sails, dyed to look like her existing Tan Bark's. Could this be the reason that Captain Kaplan is planning a run down the East River (secret rendezvous, down in NJ)??? Dumping Captain Heintz in favor of another???

Engineer Yashinsky,

Sowing distrust amongst the ranks, are you? The tactic of divide and conquer, is it? You are late entering the game and methinks you are running interference for perhaps another would be challenger. Could Captain Goldsmith have a hand in this?? I should be flogged for even entertaining such a monsterous thought! Shouldn't I?
