1) our '74 came with the main halyard upper pulley in place with a rolled bushing but without a pin or rivet or whatever was supposed to keep it in place. What is supposed to be there?
2) When I first stepped up the mast, a 1.5 inch long tubular galvanized pipe fell out. It used to have something screwed; there is a single threaded hole. There is a similar longer section in the sailguide slot to which the cleat for the downhaul is attached. I'm guessing that the single holed section was for a stop to keep the mast below the access hole for the sail guides. Is this right? What does the stop look like?
3) We have the original mainsail and jib. They've both seen better days. Anyone out there got a set for sale?

Cyrus,
I took a quick look at the Typhoon (83) masthead drawing sketch. It clearly shows the forestay pin and cotter pin, but for the mainsheet sheave, it looks strange. It looks like there is only a roll pin thru the center of the sheave and its "ends" are flush with side surface faces of the masthead. I think I would recommend replacing the roll pin with a thru ss pin, drilled at each end for a cotter pin. A washer can be used between the cotter pin and outside wall of the masthead.
This method is used on my CD26 for the sheaves. I would worry about the existing roll pin and the natural elongation of the aluminium masthead thru hole.
