I've been working on Honalei, CD-30 cutter over the past week installing a pressure water system. Like a dummy, I left my tool box on the cabin sole during the week so I didn't have to transport it every night. Saturday, when I picked up the tool box, the cabin sole had a big rust stain where the box was. I've tried some West Marine one step teak cleaner and it didn't touch the rust stain. Does anyone have a suggestion for removing this mess? sure would appreciate the help.
Honalei passed her sea trials Saturday afternoon, with all flags flying in 15-20 knot winds, she was at 7.1 knots. We were very pleased, now if we can clean her sole.....
Soiled sole - Oh! No!

Re: Soiled sole - Oh! No!
Congrats on Honalei's nice take off. 7.1 knots is nice speed.
Re the rust stain: if it's on fiberglas, I've used a product called Goof-Off (sparingly!!) with good results. Rub hard with a little bit on rag. Then wash off and wax. If it's on wood, no suggestions. Good luck.
