CD 10 Restoration

Post by Bob Brunelle »

I have an old CD 10 (hull # 321). I'm pretty sure the wood is mahogany, not teak. Can anyone tell me how to properly restore the wood (seats, rub rails, etc.). I also need some type of marine caulking compound where the rub rails have separated from the oarlocks. Any info would be much appreciated. This message is in addition to the one below.

Take the wood down with stripper and sanding. Use a marine "cherry mahoganoy filler stain". Then 3 or more coats of marine spar varnish. The look cant be beat.
