Help... Ants...its an invasion.

Post by Boyd »

I have been infested with ants... Several types and colors..the worst are the big red ones which seem to be living on the boat. The others are seem to be just trespassing. I have made a diligent search of the vessel for food sources and nests but have not found anything.

I was going to set off a bomb but the instructions call for covering all varnished surfaces with paper... not a solution since I have an all varnished interior... I have tried several sprays with no noticable result.

These guys are about to take over and I need help to prevent the mutany..Has anyone got a suggestion.

Boyd,

Take a look at the info on the following web site:

<a href="http://www.doyourownpestcontrol.com/">h ... ol.com/</a>

They include photos of different types of ants, their descriptions, and feeding habits as well as what to control them with. Maybe you'll be able to identify what's infesting the boat from the photos. You'll probably need to use a bait rather than a spray.

We had ants in our house and the exterminators used baits and they're now gone.

Good luck.

Try the following for ant control:

Mix 1 part boric acid, 1 part sugar, with a small amount of water to make a paste and place on small pieces of paper towel and place in the paths of the ants. They should be gone in a couple of days.
