The project continues and I am much wiser than when I started thanks to the many communications I have had via this bulletin board and via email from Typhoon owners. This is a continuation of the original bulletin board post I made in April. To date the deck on my boat has been sanded and faired, a delaminated after deck has been filled with epoxy, the topsides are in process of being sanded and faired. Thanks to all those who have offered ideas. Also thanks to those who are telling me about their experiences with restorations or repairs. I need HELP in three areas at the moment. 1. Anyone with experience with Interlux Brightside 1 part polyurethane paint out there? I would like to talk to you about your experiences with this system. 2. Anyone with experience with Interlux Interprotect System or other below the water line barrier coatings? I would like to talk to you too. 3. How to clean very very tarnished brass deck fittings. Brasso doesn't even make a dent in the 30+ years of crud on the deck fittings. In return, I have some experience in dealing with delamination, gelcoat failure due to age and abuse, teak refinishing and sore muscles. I'm willing to share my advise. You get what you pay for. Please feel free to use this post as a way to communicate with others who, for whatever reason, have decided (it was a good idea at the time) to restore an old boat.

I accidently discovered that number 2 cleans bronze deck fittings.Rick Parish wrote: Regarding: 3. How to clean very very tarnished brass deck fittings.
I don't mean the number 2 that some of you may be thinking of but rather the number 2 of Teak 2-part cleaning fame. The other number 2 may also work, but I'm not inclined to try it out!
