CD25 Water Tank Vent

I guess the tank has a vent hose on a 1976 CD25. Where does the vent hose run and how do you get to it? Does anyone have water come out of the vent in rough seas?

Tom,

If you have the 24 gallon plastic water tank under the V berth, the air vent is a plastic hose that ends fwd of V berth in the dead space. If you use the dead space for a chain locker, you will have to move the vent hose. I'm yet to see water come out of the vent.

Tom,
I've noticed when I fill my water tank full and then sail in rough seas, I get overflow into the bilge. First time I experienced it, I did the taste test and it was water from the water tank. I have a '77 CD25. My guess is it spills out of the 'vent' or I possibly have a leak in upper half. Once it gets about half full, there is no problem. "Sadie" sails better when the tank is full, so at some point (not a high priority) I plan to see if there is anything I can do to fix it.

Tom,

Is the vent looped up high enough? On Sovereign, it was tie strapped into a loop high in the chain locker area. Now I keep it tucked up under the head liner up front.

All the best,

Jon,
Thanks for the info. I've never gotten in there to actually check out the vent, but your've aroused my curiosity... I'm going to check it out. Hopefully, it will be easily resolved for Tom and me.
