My wife an I did alot of sailing this weekend in some very strong sun. When the wind "piped down" to really light air for a few hours during mid day, staying in the cockpit was almost unbearable. We decided that a bimini top that could be rigged while sailing in lighter airs anyway, would be wise. Does anyone have one? Any problems with the boom while underway? I'm in the NYC area (Long Island). Any places that may have templates for the CD27 so I can just call them and order one?
Thanks,

Bimini for CD27

Re: Bimini for CD27
On TIA MARI our CD27, we had a Island Nautical dodger with an attached awning. The awning ziiped onto the dodger and used a pole aft of the backstay. It worked very well.
Our mainsheet was rigged with the factory three part Crosby rig. This precluded the use of the main with the awning set. We found that during the worst of August, we would gladly trade the main for the awning.
Hope this helps.
