reparing polyethelene water tanks

I would appreciate any advice on repairing Kracor polyethelene water tanks.

Mine have cracked around the fittings and the replacement cost and time lag are significant.

The plastic has to be "welded" using special equipment. My marina (Tidewater in Havre de Grace, MD) has equipment that is good for small repairs. When I asked this question on this board before, someone suggested that ski shops often have the best equipment, which they use to repair something on skis or bindings.
