I'm thinking of upgrading the traveler on my CD 22 to a Harken system. The stock traveler seems to have limited range and wondered if anybody out there has an opinion on this. The current system (as many of you know) is just a track with a slider and a couple of stops. The track doesn't really span the width of the space and is a bit sticky, and the stops are ackward. The traveler requires more attention to operate than should be necessary. The Harken system is about $400 - not cheap! Is it worth it or have any of you discovered an alternate solution........or should I leave well enough alone? Opinions would be appreciated...........

I asked this same question some time ago and got no responses! My 25D has the same set up and I too would like to have a system that functions more efficiently. However, I would rather add a car/cheek blocks to the existing track. I replaced one traveler on a Catlina 27 and it was a chore. I would rather not replace the track, but I also know that the tracks are proprietary (sp) and I may not be able to find a car that fits the OEM track. If you find out and info, please forward it on to me.
Thanks and fair winds
