I am looking to buy a new 150% Genoa for my 1978 25-foot Cape Dory (outboard). I have measured the tired sail I am replacing and it is as follows: Luff = 27', Leach = 25', Foot = 14'. I will be purchasing my new Genoa through Lee Sails and have received a phone quote using their version on the boat's factory specs for 100%: I = 28.5', J = 8.9'. My concern is that my CD factory manual shows the 100% "I" measurement as 27' 7" and the "J" measurement as 9' exactly. How much flexibility is there between these two sets of dimensions? I measured my particular boat and it mirrored my factory manual.

The luff on my 1981 CD25 (pin-to-pin is 28' 8". I think you will be getting a shorter hoist with the 27' luff..I am assuming no roller furler. I just got a new genny from Doyle and got about 4" more hoist which isn't a big deal except in light air you need all the help you can get on these boats.
