I had one installed on my Sea Sprite 23. I used it for a very good ground plane which was required for good Loran reception lightning protection. Although I had the yard install it, it was pretty straight forward. There are usually two bronze mounting bolts thru the plate which one must drill two holes thru the hull. A flat area on the outside of the bilge side wall was choosen. The bolts were backed with a single piece of marine 3/4 inch ply on the inside surface with bronze washers and nuts. Separate nuts were used to attach grounding wiring ring terminals. Of course the thru bolting had lots of sealing compound as normal with thru hull fittings.

We have two Guest Dynaplates I installed long ago. One is on port side of the keel to serve as an electronics ground and another on the starboard side of the keel and it serves as bonding and common ground. Both have served extremely well for many years. I might add that we have a diver clean the bottom every other month and pays attention to cleaning the plates thoroughly. Note that when installing the plate be sure to follow the directions carefully and do not turn the gold plated screw after the special electrical bonding agent has cured or else you will compromise the electrical conduction between the screw (wiring stud) and the plate.
