When the yard stepped the mast on my CD30 Cutter this year they forgot to attach the the wind speed to the mast head. I have wind speed, knot meter, and depth all mounted on the pedestal. None of these show any signs of life. Could this be related to the failure to install the wind speed on the mast head?
On another matter, the yard says that on this boat it's not safe for them to climb up a stay and that I need to bring the boat back to the yard (a two day trip I have no desire to make) so they can use a cherry picker. Thanks.

Re: No Power to Pedestal Mounted Electronics
Pete,
Don't have an answer on the gages not working, but if they forgot to hook up the gages when they stepped it the first time I don't know if I'd want them doing it again. As for sending someone up to the masthead, there's no problem at all with that. These CD30's are built like a tank and solid, so as long as your halyards are good you can send someone up...I would use the mainsail halyard as your primary and headsail halyard as a backup. You might want to consider another boat yard. Competition is a wonderful thing!

It's obvious, but did you check the breaker for the instrument circuit on the electric panel? An unattached wire might have grounded to the mast and blown the circuit breaker.
