Has anyone had experience with Garmin's new Bluecharts or the GPS units that use them?

Re: Gamin Bluecharts
I have never used them but I did check out Garmins website yesterday regarding the charts features. They appear to me to be far superior to the older Garmin G charts. You can review all the info about them at the link below. Use the menu on the left to view the sample displays of the charts.Jo Chamberlain wrote: Has anyone had experience with Garmin's new Bluecharts or the GPS units that use them?

been there, done that
That's part of my quandry. I've o.d.'d on their info but am all too aware that anything can be made to look good in the promotional literature. I'm hoping to connect with someone with firsthand experience. We already have a Garmin 175 & G-charts for the Chesapeake & are looking into getting a fixed mount.

How good is good enough? I understand O.D. on the website. Last time up to the Chesapeake we used the Garmin 48 and the Chart Book. Since then I got the Fugawi software for my laptop. There is something nice about seeing the cursor moving across the screen and saying' "There I am!" (And my faithful mate concurs, "Yep, there goes that curser right now. . . ")
Given a laptop, the software ($85.00) and the data/power cord (about $30.00), I've got a bigger, better view of it all. Fugawi delivers a complete planning and navigation package. Check it out at www.fugawi.com. Also, the source I purchased it from was www.thegpsstore.com. These people list all the new Bluechart accepting units at very good prices.
