Any advice on converting to a tabernacle to help with stepping the mast? Has anyone done it? Any reason not to?

Yes, you should if you want to step your own mast... The part cost about $100.00... Simple to put on.. works great!... The source is listed in the section of this site pertaining to contacts and such... I cut an inch off the bottom of my mast in order to make all the stays and shrouds work properly... There are posts about how to step the mast if you do a search...
