Impeller Cover

Post by Tony Betz »

Some time ago I recall seeing an advertisment in a sailing magazine for custom impeller covers. The attachment bolts had relatively large, extruding knurled heads, as well a provision for an Allen wrench. Would appreciate any information about the source. Perfect for easy on/easy off. Well, easier on, easier off.
(Ever drop one of those microscopic standard bolts in the bilge? Keep a spare in the tool box, unless you want to pretend it's a Zen fountain coming out of the back of your engine.)
Best regards to all, Tony Betz, Casco Bay, Maine

Hi Tony,
The name is 'Speedseal Safety Cover' and it's made in England. Promoted as a safety device because you can change your impeller out quickly in case of emergency. I have one on my 1GM10 in Karma, and it works well. Very nicely machined and engineered with an O-ring seal. The URL is www.speedseal.com and they accept VISA/MASTERCARD. Can ship in about a week. Normally about $59 US. Good Luck!
