Cape Dory 30ft. cutter. Deck crack

I have a crack in the deck on the starboard side in the middle of the non-skid area just aft of the after post for the entrance way.Can anyone tell me if the deck is plywood or cored balsa wood.
I hope someone has this info.

Roger: There is an extensive discussion back in March. Scroll down until you see deck cracks. Basically you have a balsa core deck and this is a common problem. If you don't find answers to your questions, write back and I can give you my theory on the cause and what I've tried for a cure.
