I have a CD31 with alcohol stove. There are 2 hoses going into the alcohol tank in the starboard cockpit locker - one brings air in to pressurize, and the other sends alcohol out (through an on/off valve) to the black hose and on to the stove. The final fitting in line on this latter exit system is broken in two. The problem is that there is some type of hose clamp holding the remaining peice in that seems permanently locked in or clamped. There must be some way to get the clamp off - but I have no idea. The hose is beginning to crack a little as I manipulate it, and I really, really do not want to replace that whole hose going wherever it goes to get to the stove. The second problem is where do I get such a fitting to replace the broken one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. WSe would like to do some cruising in July and be able to cook while we are away.
Thanks,

Re: alcohol stove tank connection
Since I posted this, I have been reading older messages on alcohol stoves. Can anyone tell me how to contact this company "Seward" that apparently has parts for alcohol stoves. Anyone out there selling parts for a stove, or has removed one recently?

Michael,
Try searching on "seaward stove". Simply placing this in the location window of Netscape Navigator returned lots of references to Seaward and a variety of stoves. Using Copernic to search might get you more links. One good source for Seaward stove parts seems to be A&H Enterprises. The link below may be of some help. I found a reference to them at: http://www.hoffmasters.com/vendorlist.html
Good luck!

Re: SeaWards telephone number....
Michael,
A year or so ago, I called SeaWard, the manufacturer of the Hillerange, at (562)699-7997. They were very helpful and can supply parts. The hose clamp you are looking at is mechanically fixed. It is NOT reuseable. Cut it off and use a small stainless hose clamp. Replacing the hose is not really that difficult as long as the hose is not tye wrapped inside some inaccessible space.
Oh, if the stove top is discolored, clean it with oven cleaner, and then use a cup brush in a hand drill to polish it up. Did mine this year and it looks like new....
Hope this helps....

Re: alcohol stove connection....
I called A&H and they told me that the fitting was just a regulart plumbing compression fitting so I have started looking at plumbing stores. They said if I sent the hose to them they would fix it and send it back but I thinmk I will try the fitting approach first. I have stopped trying to deal with the clamp thanks to your message. If I cut it, I just have enough slack to get it recdonnected - barely. Thanks.
