Outboard for a Typhoon Daysailer

Hello! We are buying a Typhoon from our neighbor and we need an outboard for it - he’s old school and just uses a paddle! I️ can’t find a definitive answer as to what shaft length we need. Is there a clear answer? Thanks in advance for any advice.
