substitute for Spartan sea cock grease

Hello to all.

I had two of my Sparten seacocks get super-stiff over the winter. I'm also plumb out of the Sparten grease.

I need a substitute before May 30.

Any ideas? Can I use waterproof wheel bearing grease?

The previous owner of my boat swore by Morey's Super Red. The seacocks all moved fine and were well maintained. I'm an easy drive to Georgetown, Maine so I switched to Spartan seacock grease.

When I had Spartan Seacocks I used to use MareLube which is made by ForeSpar.
It is nice and thick and can be used on o-rings and other fittings as well.
It worked pretty well in making a good seal too.

I have used the Lubriplate grease for years as originally recommended by the boatyard. Great stuff and works well. One tub will last for10 years or more.
