Northeast Fleet Cabin Fever Lunch - March 15, 2025

Post by Carl Thunberg »

The Cabin Fever Lunch is just over three weeks away! The Cabin Fever Lunch is an annual event of the Northeast Fleet held at Newick's Lobster House in Dover New Hampshire. It's an opportunity to get together in an informal setting and enjoy lunch together near the end of a long winter. There will be Fleet updates by Fleet Captain Dave Hemenway, and I will have a brief Commodore's report, followed by a guest speaker.

There is no cost to attend because we all order off the menu. We do request that anyone planning to come please register on the Event page of www.capedorysoa.org so we can let the restaurant know how many to expect. We generally have between 35 to 50 people.

Our guest speakers for the Cabin Fever Lunch will be Jeremy and Erica Elwell who, among other things, sailed their CD28 Sparrow to Ireland. Come hear of their passage and their future plans as they return to Galway and resume their journey.

Keep those registrations coming!

Only ten days to go everyone. Time to renew old friendships and make some new friends. As Sponge Bob might opine, you can never have too much nautical nonsense in your life. :D

It has taken me a few days to report on the Cabin Fever Lunch. We had roughly 50 people in attendance! It was a great day and a chance to get together over lunch, re-connect with friends and make some new ones. Fleet Captain Dave Hemenway kicked us off with what's happening in the Northeast Fleet and expanded outreach to Typhoon owners. I made some remarks as event co-organizer and as Commodore. The main event was our guest speakers Jeremy and Erica Elwell who among other sailing accomplishments, sailed their CD28 Sparrow to Ireland.

Here are some photos from this year's Cabin Fever Lunch.
