Whisker pole for CD25 - size?

Post by yankeefan »

I have a 1975 CD25 that is rigged for a whisker pole but it was included with the boat when I bought it. Does anyone know the correct size pole or can recommend a good solution for purchase? I read several posts on the board from '06 but am looking to glean the current expertise on this forum.

Try this from Forespar. You can search by manufacturer and then by model. The CD25 is listed. If it's only a whisker pole you need, it appears they recommend the HD 6ft to 12ft with a padeye at the mast (i.e. no T-track). There are also recommendations for spinnaker poles, but that wasn't your question.

My whisker pole is 6' and has served me well while single handed sailing.

Thanks Gents - It sounds like 6' should work and will consider a 6'-12'; maybe I can luck up and find a used one.
