CD33 with tiller ?

CD33 with tiller ?
Did any Cape Dory 33’ come with tiller steer vs. wheel
from the builder ?
Actively looking for a 33, so far all have wheel.
Is a wheel to tiller conversion practical in terms of cost,
or keep looking ?

Re: CD33 with tiller ?
If you're interested in undertaking a conversion, John Stone has documented the project on his CD 36, "Far Reach" I would probably prefer a tiller on my CD 33, but I'm content with the wheel and don't think about it. I am pretty sure you won't find any factory installed tillers on CD33s, but I"ve

Oh it’s the yearly fee. I’ll take care of it tomorrow.
Re: CD33 with tiller ?
I've got a CD33 with a wheel, don't think they came any other way?? The only issue (not a big one) is getting by the wheel in the cockpit. Not sure if a tiller would be a complication with a full cockpit, maybe 4 people and the Captain? John Stone would be a good source about that. It's true that the "feel" of the boat is different, but one nice thing is that you can easily look forward in that the wheel is a bit closer to the rail at all times?
Re: CD33 with tiller ?
No, not really a big deal. I solo probably 95% of my sailing
time. Now that I am retired, I hope go a bit more further
into the blue.
My 28’ had tiller steer and I guess I’m just used to it.
Also, I think the install, and perhaps operation of a wind vane
may be simpler with a tiller.
