Hello — looking to see if there is any interest out there. I have a 1983 CD33 in Mystic, CT. Solid and clean boat. I have had her since 2009. Considering the move to downeast power for family reasons, and just noticed some concern with the power plant. She has an original universal 5424, which has always been reliable; 1250 hours. The timing cover (gear case) is badly corroded below the water pump. (I gather this is a common concern.) She is not leaking any oil now, but I would not feel comfortable running her as is. Prior to discovering this, I would value the boat somewhere between 30 and 40,000. Curious what the interest level is (1) as is, (2) repaired, (3) rebuilt 5424, (4) re-powered. (Full disclosure, I am not sure I have the stomach to re-power just for resale. Nonetheless, I appreciate the feedback.)
Bottom has been stripped, barrier-coated, and coppercoat-ed. (I have not touched the bottom in 7 years — highly recommended.) Main is maybe 10 years old, in great shape (Sperry Sails); washed and inspected last year. New, custom sail cover last year. Genny can get you through, but she is tired. 3-blade max-prop. B&G Zeus 7 chartplotter/MFD. Auto-Helm wheel pilot (belt-drive). I will follow-up with some pictures.

Hello - she is still available. I made the repair so we could have some use without hesitation. Sourced a used (Kubota tractor) cover; repaired with new seals/gaskets by a qualified marine diesel mechanic. New freshwater (cooling) pump; new raw-water pump; new thermostat, along with additional maintenance items. Straightened (balanced) prop-shaft. New motor mounts (isolators). There is 1250 hours on the clock and has always run like a top for me.
Would still like to make the move to downeast power for the family, so open to discussion/offers prior to listing with a broker. Thanks for the interest.
