Standing Rigging Replacement

Post by Pembquist »

1977 CD 28. For all I know the rigging is original. Besides the Wire what else is considered to be past its service life at 50? Tangs, turnbuckles, toggles, clevis pins, Bolts etc. What is considered uninspectable and should just be replaced because of age? Are the Bronze padeyes at the chainplates considered to be eternal? (None of this withstanding inspection.)

I notice the tang for the lower shrouds is a single layer with forked terminals, would it be better if replacing it to go to 2 layers and terminal eyes?

Any recommendations for rigging sources in the Pacific Northwest equivalent to Rigging Only on the east coast?
