Great photograph, John. Nothing like starting a race in a gale to get the adrenaline flowing.

Very nice John. Looks like a single reefed main and stays'l. How was the helm balance?

Thanks all!
She balances out beautifully with single reef & staysail John.
We beat all the way out of Buzzards Bay into gusts around 30kts, lots of water over the deck, and the boat never missed a beat. It was a fast and exhilarating start to the 2019 Marion-Bermuda race, and the wind held for nearly all of the 635nm. Single or double reefed nearly the whole way, we cut 11 hours off out 2017 race time. We finished 15th on corrected time in a fleet of 38 bigger/faster boats in what was a rough & challenging race to Bermuda, great boat, great crew!
