Water under the motor

Water under the motor
I have a problem with water accumulating under the motor. I would have thought this water would make its way to the bilge and be pumped overboard., but that is not happening. Is there a drain under the motor that could be plugged up?
Re: Water under the motor
If the setup on your CD30 is like my 28, the pan under the engine is there to catch oil, antifreeze, or water before it gets to the bilge. If it drained to the bilge, there would be potential for pollutants to be pumped overboard. It also helps identify leaks from the engine. I inspect and clean the pan frequently so I know if anything is going wrong.

I too have been getting water under the engine. I had thought that it was coming from the stuffing box but, as the boat was on the hard this last winter, water still made its way there. I have been eliminating certain areas. Then I replaced my scupper hoses. The hoses looked and felt ok, but after they were removed it was apparent that they were leaking. Right at the clamps and about four inches above the clamp in an area that could only be viewed when removed. I used to get a couple of cups of water when it rained, now I can clean it up with a paper towel. I think the water is coming either from the starboard water dam under the cockpit locker, or somewhere from the very back of the deck. It seems to me to be dead center as if the leak were to the right or left of center it would end up in the bilge. I have a 1983 25D. Good luck. Agapé

Ah yes, the mystery water in the engine bilge.
I’ve narrowed it down to the teak coamings in the port and starboard cockpit lockers.
Mine both need to be removed, refinished and rebedded with butyl Rubber Caulk.
Maybe a project for this winter.
Until then I just use a stream machine pool toy that I keep next to the port seacocks to empty it when it gets full.
