The idea is to enjoy the boatand the project I added up my reciepts. Every nut, bolt, sanpaper haulouts etc. over$150,000. If I had to sell I would be lucky wtth $20g’s although the not “out of water” survey not counting the new engine was $33

I did enjoy the work and I love to sail her. Probably not a good time with interest up along with inflation. But I'm in no hurry. No way I would get my money back. I do appreciate the reply. I have been kind of surprised that I have gotten zero offers though. Even the typical low balls. Almost 800 views now and only two replies.

So I am obviously too high for the current market.

I'll keep sailing and when my health won't allow anymore I'll donate or haul her to the farm and set her in the woods for the grand kids and raccoons to play on.

Thanks again for the feedback. Dennis

Hi, Dennis - Hang in there - I think you'll have more interest come spring. Plus there is increasing interest in electric
propulsion. Good luck - you have a pretty boat there. - Jean

Thank you very much. We are hoping to sail this weekend. That is a plus for electric. We have nothing to winterize.

It is interesting to read what others have spent on their CD30's Like them I also spent as much on repairs and upgrades (around NZ$25k) as I did on the purchase of my CD30 "Wisp" registered at Jekyll Island. In Wellington New Zealand, I sold the vessel in 2009 for $45,000 New Zealand dollars. At that time the vessel was in NZ Cat 1 condition, (fully fitted for off shore international travel with, SSB, new life raft, new rigging, radar, sat nav, etc etc).
Then only last week I saw that my "old Boat" is currently again up for sale on Trademe NZ, for $38,000. Having been fitted with a new engine but otherwise very much like it was when I owned the vessel.
Cape Dory boats had their faults but from my experience, I know they are good sea going vessels and I believe, undervalued compared to most similar sized vessels.
