need a service manual for md7a...would be willing to buy or copy a manual...i have a 1979 md7a and the lower fitting of the water pump inlet pipe is leaking and it looks like its a pressed fiting that is not adjustable and my guess is it needs to be replaced...and yes i'm back in the port cockpit locker (being rt handed)...save me please!

I recently obtained an owners manual directly from Volvo.
If you go to this link and send a message asking for what you want, it might show up in the mail in a few days...it did for me.

If you have the orginal water pump, the chances are that the water pump itself is leaking, as there is a weep hole in the bottom of the unit.
Check this as soon as you can, as the weep hole can clog up-causing the water to seep into the engine!
If you find that you need a new one, contact Bill Tibbits at Marelco in Seattle (phone number is 206-545-4224, and he will send you a new one for about $140.00 UPS. The new one will require some modifications as it is longer than the old Johnson Pump that you have on your boat, but a heck of a lot safer!
And, you will be using some radiator hoses to make the change over, and some cutting of the existing copper line that presently runs to your pump.
Do order the clamps to hold the new pump-you might not need them, but that was included in my price!
Give me a hollar if you need any help on this.
