Cleaning Cockpit Storage Area

I have a CD26 and would like to clean out the interior of the 2 sections in the cockpit underneath the seating area.
I think that the any water would drain into the bilge and then have to be pumped out. Yes? Would also need to watch out for electrical wiring used to connect battery to motor.

Hanalei was pulled in August last year for some shaft log work, and while the engine was out,I used a product called "Grease Off" to clean the bilge and Lazzerette storage areas. Spray it on, scrub lightly with a deck brush, wash off with hose, drain to bilge, pump out and you are done! Worked real well, and interior now looks like new.
