Can anyone weigh in? Mirka sanders are very expensive and I cannot locate anything used. What is a quality alternative?

The Bosch GET75-6N, which I got last year, is an option. It's the best random-orbital I've ever used. - Jean

Depends on what you are trying to do with it.

What's the mission?

Whatever you get hi highly recommend the 3M Xtract cubitron II mesh discs. They improve the dust extraction due to their mesh design, and they stay sharp for a long time. I use it with a small shop vac and cyclone dust extractor between the sander and vac. Works quite well.
