Leoma Update / Forneys Cove
Been out almost every weekend to the islands here off So. California. I left Thursday afternoon and arrived at Scorpions Cove for the night then sailed up and around the west end of the island to Forneys Cove.. It was kinda wet and only one fisherman boat showed up later at night. Saturday sailed back down a few miles to Fry's harbor and came home Sunday (today).. I had to motor half way home because the wind died.. I'm still using my old worn out transmission. for those of you paying attention to my posts.. It almost seems to be ok.. but I haven't been using it much.. I can drift all the up the c-dock to my slip at the end. It's been 3 months now and I haven't heard a word from Beta Marine about my new motor.. I will call them this week. I wish I could use this motor till it dies. I'm not at all disappointed for the delay on my new motor. Here is a couple photos

Re: Leoma Update / Forneys Cove
here is a chart of the islands off of Ventura Ca.. I haven't figured out how to show my routes yet.. I can only take a photo of the chart then attach that. I hope I get better at it. Go back to see a photo of Forneys anchorage behind the reef and the navionics charts

I decided to motor up to Morro Bay. Winds are calm. Expect to pick up Friday 25-30. I’m approaching Pt Conception now. About half way I wanted to get a photo of Morro Rock for Roberto

Leoma at Morro Bay. Glassy calm 150 mi from Ventura. 24 hr @ 2000 rpm. No problem with old transmission??? Morro Bay is more of a lagoon. It’s so nice. Yacht club welcomes all visitors. $1 per ft at the dock or $20 per day on a mooring ball. I will stay a week or so

That's some excellent sailing. It's gorgeous out there. I have stood on the beach at Moro Bay but never sailed there. They can get a dangerous break over the bar no?
Glad the engine and tranny still working. Do you think it was the alignment all along?
