Video: Arietta's Launch Day in 66 Seconds (with A-frame)

Post by wikakaru »

Thursday was launch day for Arietta, our Cape Dory 22! Here is a time-lapse video that compresses the 1 hour 23 minute process into 1 minute 6 seconds:

(The A-frame goes up at about t=16 seconds.)

Smooth sailing,

It was made by taking 1 photograph every 5 seconds, so yep, it is way jerky a la Keystone Cops. It was the best I could do with my old-school camera technology. If someone wants to gift me a GoPro Hero 10 so I can make smoother videos, I wouldn't say no.

Very impressive process. You and your spouse(?) have it down to a science. I couldn't tell if the 2 locals who wandered onto the scene were more help or hindrance. Anyway thanks for that! A very entertaining watch.

Well, I will put it this way: one of them laid the outboard down on the ground with the "THIS SIDE UP" label facing DOWN.
