Re: Boom Bale for 25D?
The Rigrite web site says the Cape Dory 25D used the "CD2" extrusion which is 2 1/4" wide:

I believe both Schaefer and Ronstan have boom bails that should work.

Is any preparation necessary to avoid electrolysis between the mast and the bale?
Thanks

Re: Boom Bale for 25D?
If you through-bolt the bale, and make the holes in the boom slightly wider than the bolt, there shouldn't be a problem.

It is always a good idea to apply a coating like Tef-gel or zinc chromate paste wherever stainless and aluminum meet.
Smooth sailing,

Re: Boom Bale for 25D?
I used nylon washers on my CD28 to insulate the bail from the boom and put tef-gel on the bolt itself. After 47 years there was some corrosion from the old bail contacting the aluminum.
