Standing rigging replacement

Post by Joe CD MS 300 »

Just got an estimate to replace all the 35 year old standing rigging on my MS 300 Motor Sailor for about $2,500. I know there are not many MS 300 owners but does that sound reasonable?

Looking at the online MS300 manual for wire sizes and lengths and guessing what the wire terminals are (I figured a threaded stud on one end and an eye on the other for each wire) I estimated about $1200 for the wire, swage terminals and labor for swaging based on prices from Rigging Only. You would need to pay sales tax and shipping also. This doesn't include new turnbuckles (add another $40-$60 each) and it doesn't include labor to remove and install.

Thanks Rich. Labor is about $750. It was a pretty detailed estimate. Not counting wire about 40+ parts.
