I have been watching that system off the Southern Yucatan for several days. NOAA/NHC keeps adjusting their guidance from little chance of development to marginally favorable for development.
I used to think the Gods were angered at South Florida. I am beginning to think you guys in LA and especially NOLA, did something really really bad.

I hope this system peters out soon. Enough is enough.

GFS shows the system in the gulf heading into Mexico. They have been pretty accurate so far with the other storms.

and just like magic .. today GFS turned the gulf storm north towards Louisiana.

The Euro (ECMWF) shows nothing so far, but the GFS shows a Hurricane by 9/13. The GFS seems to be bullish on the tropical systems.
