I Spy...
I spied this Cape Dory 28 (?) on Wednesday, June 16 sailing into Fox Islands Thorofare from East Penobscot Bay. I didn't have a chance to see a name, so someone will have to confess to being the owner. Nice day, good sailing weather, pretty boat. What more could one ask for?
(I think it's a CD28. It looks too big to be a 25D, but they both have 3 portholes in the cabin house.)
Smooth sailing,
Jim

My CD28 has 4 portlights. Maybe it's a 27?

Re: I Spy...
Oops, you are right--it looks like 2 ports on the 22; 3 ports on the 25D and 27; 4 ports on the 270 through 32; then 5 on the 33 and up.BernieA wrote:My CD28 has 4 portlights. Maybe it's a 27?
I guess no one on the board claims that boat as their own?

Re: I Spy...
I spied this Cape Dory at anchor yesterday: Sweet Pea. I'm guessing by the 4 port holes in the cabin house and lack of an inner forestay that this is a CD28, but I am happy to be corrected. No one was in the cockpit when we sailed past, and no dinghy evident, so I assume the owners were ashore. Anyway, welcome to the neighborhood! Enjoy your stay!

Re: I Spy...
I spied Sweet Pea again Friday in Rockland, Maine. Definitely a Cape Dory 28, at least according to the sail logo. Maybe the owners will appreciate some photos of their boat under sail.

I think you are going to have to come to Maine, John. Besides, the scenery in North Carolina is too flat for good backgrounds. Yep, you have to come to Maine. There's an incentive for you.John Stone wrote:Beautiful. Come shoot some photos of she FR.

Re: I Spy...
Here's another one from Friday: the Cape Dory 36 Elary in Rockland Harbor, Maine. Regrettably, I couldn't get a good angle for a glamour shot, as I was at anchor photographing the Friendship Sloop Regatta, but here she is anyway...

I Spy...Astarte!
This Cape Dory 33 was spotted on Saturday, July 24 in Rockland Harbor, Maine. Again, sorry it's not a glamor shot, but I was a bit preoccupied with the fleet of 14 Friendship sloops sailing past me to notice another Cape Dory until it was too late.
Smooth sailing,
Jim

I spy...Sarabande!
The Cape Dory 28 Sarabande was spotted on Saturday rounding Crabtree Point, North Haven, Maine. She looks much bigger than 28 feet from this angle.
It was a beautiful day for a sail, and the crew of Sarabande looked like they were enjoying their sail. I know we were enjoying ours!

I spy...Stella Polaris!
This Cape Dory 28 was spotted Sunday in Fox Islands Thorofare, Maine. It looked like she was getting ready to head into Perry Creek for the night.

I spy...Sunrise! I spotted this Cape Dory 28 yesterday beating out the eastern entrance of Fox Island Thorofare into a foggy East Penobscot Bay, Maine.
