Installing a boom vang on CD31

Post by Mike Davis »

I just bought a boom vang for my 31. If anyone knows the correct size boom bail and mast bail, I would appreciate the information. Thanks

It looks to me like a rather BIG misprint for the 'Y' dimension for the CD31, CD33 and CD36...
My "standard" is the boom bail should be about twice the distance from gooseneck as that of the mast bail.

Are those masts Keel stepped? Could those "Y" dimensions be from the bottom of the mast, not from the deck?

Oops! I didn't think about that but it would then be a bit difficult to truly measure...
