2021 NE Fleet ZOOM Winter Meeting - Mar. 6th

Post by Cathy Monaghan »

Northeast Fleet Members,

It’s time for our Fleet’s annual Winter Meeting. Even though we can’t get together in person, we can still get together virtually. I’d like to schedule the meeting for Saturday, March 6th at 1:30 PM EST. Since it will be a basic ZOOM meeting, it will be limited to 40 minutes and 100 participants, so it won’t take up too much of your time.

During the meeting we will elect new (or the same) Fleet officers and discuss plans for possible get-togethers during the 2021 sailing season in the form of rendezvous, float-ins and cruises where we can safely socially distance ourselves.

Since we weren’t able to get together on the water during 2020, the cruise/rendezvous plans that were made for activities during the 2020 sailing season may be able to take place, with a few modifications, this summer.

Joe DeAlteris is starting to think about the possibilities for another Maine Cruise.

I will send an email with a ZOOM meeting invitation once we get closer to the date.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already done so, you’ll need to install the ZOOM app on your computer or mobile device. Go to:
https://zoom.us/pricing
and select the Basic Personal Meeting FREE plan.

You’ll find some ZOOM how-tos here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206175806
You may want to practice a little before the meeting.

Nice job today Cathy. You made it look easy and I know it is not.

I enjoyed seeing the faces of the people who’s posts I have read for years. I hope to meet y’all face to face one day. I appreciate being a member of such an interesting fleet.

In the mean time I will remain on guard protecting the southern flank of the NE Fleet.

Best of luck to all. Stay safe.

We, the CDSOA Northeast Fleet, had our annual Winter Meeting today via ZOOM. Though I would much rather have met with everyone in person, I think it was a success. A big thank you to everyone that participated.

It was great to see many of you today! The zoom format and the introductions was less chatting but better for meeting more of you than an in person meeting. I'm really happy we did it!
I'm now really looking forward to visiting Block Isl (Henry).
Robin, I do own two sets of Bohndell sails, one for a Shellback and one for a Nutshell. Your family runs a great loft!
I look forward to seeing many of you in Maine this summer, fates permitting.
And Jim Walsh, I do hope you make the BDA trip this year. I'll have to imagine the beauty of the Gulf Stream and St Georges harbor. I'm glad you'll get to enjoy it in person!
Jeff
PS Thanks Cathy & Doug for figuring this out and making it happen!

Sorry I missed this. Is there a Narragansett Bay Float scheduled this year? Are there details and a date yet?

Hi Cathy,
Great job with the first Annual Meeting using Zoom! It was fantastic to see so many members individually and to learn a bit about each of them. Looks like the NE Fleet is off to a great start for 2021. The float ins, opportunities to cruise and the Maine cruise all sound exciting and will be great opportunities to meet again in person this season. Congratulations to you and Doug on your election! :)

All the best

Hi. Could not attend zoom meeting, did you record it? Not a zoom user and thought it would be good if it was able to be shared. Thanks Brian
