Looking for a better quality American Flag

Last year I got a WM gift card from my sister( Maybe two years) I bought an American Flag. It's already in shreds so I took it down. I got another card this year but I'm not gonna buy that same Flag. Can someone inform me where to get good quality Flags? Thanks

I’ve used these for several years. I get three to four seasons use from them and I fly a flag all the time.

When you say, you took it down, that implies that you might have left it flying for a year. Proper flag edict would have you putting it up at 8:00 AM and taking it down at sunset, whenever you are aboard. If this is what you have been doing, then you need to find a better flag. I have bought several of those Defender flags; a yachting ensigns and an American flag. I have had them for a long time and they still look great. I do get lazy sometimes and leave them up. I have also taken them down when the wind gets really strong.

It bothers me a bit to see flags flown improperly. My real pet peeve are those pirate flags. I always think that if you are a pirate, I should be able to take your ship, drink your grog and have my way with your women, Steve.

OK I'll try the Anin Brand from Defender I think the brand I got from WM was Taylor. So I gather that they only last a few years. Yes I keep it up all the time as do most of the others in this marina.
No further comment on the other flags. We've had this conversation before and it went on forever.

One thing that I wanted for my boat was a good American flag. When I went looking for one, I learned that most of the flags available aren’t true in their dimensions. It led me down the rabbit hole of government spec flags. Long story short, I am really happy with the Valley Forge GSP3230 government spec, commercial grade flag. A little more expensive than some and it actually looks a little out of proportion since many of the flags we commonly see are not true to dimensions. I’m very happy with it.

Yes, unfortunately I couldn’t find a smaller one either.

Decided to order the 16" x 24" from them .They don't have 24 x 30 which would be correct for a 30' boat, I think. The lady told me these are good flags but I think not any better than the Taylor or Vixens. She said two years out on the boat continuously is pretty good life.

I have found that buying a flag that does not have the stars embroidered is ALWAYS a bad bet. I like to purchase my flags from the local VFW. They have good quality and are made in USA. If the price is a little higher then I don't mind that either, as it supports a worthwhile cause.

Thought I’d give the Valley Forge a try 24” 30” arrived looks the same as the others. Stars are ebroidered. There is no manufacter tag just “made in USA” nylon with double stich and four stich on theoutside

That is the "Shorty" version of a flag. A 24" hoist should be 45.6" for the Fly dimension. 1x1.9 is the correct ratio for an American Flag.
