crushing a Catalina
This is a series of photos taken today by a professional sailor in which I completely out perform a Catalina 35. No an official race, but we were both sailing in the same direction. They are in reverse order. The bulletin board only allowed 3 files, but the fourth photo shows the typhoon clearly ahead of the catalina.

Re: crushing a Catalina
I had a similar experience 4 or 5 years ago, no pictures! On a Sunday evening I was sailing back into the West River, there were several other boats heading in at the same time, I passed them and they were all over 30' as I recall several were closer to 40'. I'm not a racer and certainly not the most accomplished at eking out the last 1/10" of a knot, so it was clearly the design and not the sailor!
