It’s easy to make a pattern from an existing combing. Use doorskin ply cut into 1.5” wide strips and cut them to fit with a pair of tin snips. Glue them together with a hot glue gun. I rebuilt my entire boat using this method. I have made probably 150-200 templates. Use the template then to determine how much wood you need and also to lay the template on the wood to trace out what needs to be cut.

But you also don’t even need and existing combing to model. The correct design is fairly self evident if you take some time to study it or look at another typhoon.

I think that you could also use the Port coaming as a template. I think that it is a mirror image or at the least very close.
