Dome Light LED - Switch Update / Your experience
After a bit of research, I've arrived on the idea to update 2 of my incandescent dome lights with the Dr. LED 12V R/W LED Kit (https://www.doctorled.com/store/12V-R-W ... MD-LED-Kit) rather than replacing the entire fixtures. How-to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm7zBT16IK4
I would also like to update the ON-OFF-ON switches with new ones but I'm not sure if I should be looking for SPRT or DPRT toggle switches. How do I find this out?
Here's a pic of the original switch:

It looks like it says KN4--I 250V-2A. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to find a similar but a high-quality version to replace this one with?
I'm also open to hearing your experiences with such an update, if you've done similar.

Defenders sells the Dr. LED complete unit for 53 bucks. Since I’m a danger to society when I play electrician my choice would be clear.

I also went with complete units. I'm happy with them. - Jean

Thanks for the input. My issue with the complete unit is that they are plastic (both bezel and lens) and more expensive than the update kit. I think I'd rather have the original metal bezel and glass lens.

I just put LED bulbs in my dome lights, don't remember where I got them, not a kit, just bulbs. Kept my original dome lights, buffed the chrome on a wheel here at the house and they look like new. Much brighter.

I swapped out the bulbs with led bulbs that I found online. 10 bulbs for about $15. Current dropped by 90%, from 7amps down to 0.7. My CD28 uses 9 bulbs.

Looks like a single pole double throw, does this switch turn on two lamps? Single pole single throw would only have two connection, to the lamp and from the source. I assume the extra wire is going to another lamp. With the switch on all three wires will show 12 volts to ground. With the switch off only one wire will show 12 volts. That will be your line voltage. Dennis

I ended up installing the red/warm white kit with these switches:
https://amzn.to/39eVLfc
I did have to bore out the hole for the switch to fit, but they are beefier and seem to work real well. I like the rubberized caps that can be screwed onto the post if wanted.
I'm quite happy with the amount and color of light. Now to see if they stand the test of time.

one of the problems I found was the brass surface that reflects the light was dark and tarnished. The solution is to paint the inside of the light with white paint. then I bought some LED lights from amazon which were reasonable at 4.00 each. I went with the daylight color. They really produce a bright cheerful light.
